MOLINE, Ill. - The Elmhurst baseball team slipped to 14-12 overall and 8-5 in the CCIW after dropping a 17-1 contest at Augustana College.
Elmhurst's bats were quiet in the loss, finishing with just three hits and one run in the loss.
Augustana (21-7, 7-5 CCIW) scored a run in the first and added two in the second before blowing the game open in the third. The Vikings sent 19 batters to the plate in the third inning, scoring 12 runs. The Vikings did almost all their work with singles, totaling 10 singles and just one extra-base hit in the inning.

Calvin Bjorgum and Tyler Kledzki each recorded a hit for the Bluejays in the loss. Kledzik drove in the Bluejays' only RBI in the loss in the seventh.
Clayton Wallace finished 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBIs to pace Augustana. Ryan Kairis and Nick Mosele knocked in three runs apiece for the Vikings.
Austin MacMillan took the loss for the Bluejays, surrendering 10 hits and 12 runs in 2.1 innings of work. MacMillan fanned two while slipping to 3-1 on the year. Brad Dubow earned the win for the Vikings, tossing five innings and allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out seven.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in Elmhurst but was moved to Augustana due to poor field conditions at Butterfield Park.
Elmhurst hosts Dominican University on Tuesday, April 18.
