DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Elmhurst College women's lacrosse team opened a two-game road trip to Iowa with a 19-3 loss to Loras College. 

Elmhurst (0-5) operated a player down for the duration of the game due to injuries, and Loras (3-3) took advantage, outshooting Elmhurst 40-7 in the contest. The Bluejays struggled with their possessions, turning the ball over 27 times and converting just 7-of-20 clear attempts. 

Loras scored a pair of goals less than two minutes into the contest and the Duhawks continued to pull away in the first half, scoring the game's first 12 goals. Elmhurst ended the shutout with just nine seconds left in the half as Grace Knoebel netted her sixth goal of the season. 

Loras scored two goals early in the second half to go up 14-1, before Ellen Brown netted her first of two goals from free position. Loras scored three more goals to extend their cushion to 17-2 before Brown struck for her second goal of the game with 9:40 remaining. Loras added two goals in the final 3:17 to earn the 19-3 victory.

Brown and Knoebel combined for all seven of Elmhurst's shots. Brown finished with two goals while Knoebel added one. Brown added four draw controls and two ground balls in the loss. Megan Keener stopped 12 shots in goal while taking the loss 

Anna Schwalbe paced Loras' attack with seven points, finishing with six goals and an assist. Olivia Flynn added five points on four goals and an assist. Ashley McGee earned the win in net, finishing with two saves. 

Elmhurst travels to Wartburg College on March 23.
