MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 by dominating Monmouth College for a 15-2 victory.

Elmhurst dominated the contest from start to finish, outscoring the Scots 9-0 in the opening half while outshooting the squad 22-3. The Bluejays scored the first 11 goals of the contest before Monmouth cracked the scoreboard.

Elmhurst finished the contest outshooting Monmouth 50-9 and owned a 33-20 edge in ground balls.

Mac Harden and
Matt Westhaver combined for nine goals to power Elmhurst's offense in the victory. Haden struck for five goals while Westhaver found the back of the net four times.
Jake Heil added a pair of goals while
Ty Funderburk,
Jake Cambron and
Jackson Mandli each added goals for the Bluejays. Funderbark and Mandli added an assist apiece in the victory.

Nick Bonastia picked up the win in goal, allowing just one goal while making one save.
Noah Bachofen played the final quarter in goal and allowed one goal while stopping one shot.

Croy Seagren and Jerry Ivie tallied a goal apiece for Monmouth in the loss. Jason Kunath took the loss in goal, surrendering 13 goals while recording 12 saves over three periods. Ryan Mountain played the fourth quarter and allowed two goals while stopping three shots.

Elmhurst plays its home-opener against Hendrix College on Friday, February 24.
