ANDERSON, Ind. - First half goals from
Josh Arvidson and
Alec Gnass was all the Elmhurst men's soccer team needed as the Bluejays ended a two-game road trip with a 2-0 shutout win at Anderson University.
Arvidson and Gnass scored just 92 seconds apart in the game's first 10 minutes to provide the contest's entire offense. Arvidson struck first, flicing the ball over Anderson keeper Brandon Weer's head and into the back of the net.
Derek Dedman assisted on Arvidson's goal just 8:28 into the contest.
Gnass padded Elmhurst's lead to two goals just 92 seconds letter.
Nick Fecci worked his way to free space and sent a cross to Gnass for the Bluejays' second goal of the contest.Â
Elmhurst's defense did the rest, outshooting Anderson 13-5 in the game and not allowing the Ravens a shot in the entire second half.Â
Donnie Kvien recorded his second consecutive shutout in goal, stopping the only shot he faced in the contest. Weer recorded three saves and allowed two goals for Anderson while taking the loss.
Elmhurst plays its home-opener on Wednesday, September 7, by welcoming Dominican University to Langhorst Field.Â
