CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team slipped to 2-5 on the season following a 9-3 loss to the Illinois Institute of Technology. 

After a 2-2 first half, IIT outscored Elmhurst 7-3 in the second half, including the last six of the contest. 

Elmhurst struck first, scoring five minutes into the contest on a Pheobe LeRoy goal from free position. Sarah Colby scored back-to-back goals for IIT to give the Scarlet Hawks a 2-1 lead, but Meghan Keyes scored the equalizer for Elmhurst with 5:18 left in the half. 

Isabella Rubin gave IIT a 3-2 lead early in the second half, but Natalie Tylka scored off a feed from Ellen Brown just four minutes later to pull the Bluejays even at 3-3. 

IIT took over for the final 20 minutes, outscoring Elmhurst 6-0. Sarah Colby and Isabella Rubin scored two goals apiece in the stretch to pull the Scarlet Hawks to the victory. IIT cashed in on Elmhurst yellow cards, scoring three goals with an extra-player advantage.

IIT (7-3) outshot Elmhurst 36-11 in the contest and a 26-22 edge in ground balls. 

LeRoy, Keyes and Tylka scored one goal apiece for the Bluejays while Brown totaled two assists in the loss. Grace Knoebel recorded 19 saves in net for the Bluejays.

Colby paced IIT in the win with four goals while Rubin tallied five points on three goals and a pair of assists. Abbie Reynolds recorded five saves in the cage for the Scarlet Hawks.

Elmhurst hosts Northwestern University (Minn.) on Friday, April 8.
