WAUKESHA, Wis. - Phoebe LeRoy netted a hat trick but it wasn't enough as the Elmhurst women's lacrosse team fell 10-7 at Carroll University. 

LeRoy scored the game's first goal just three minutes into the game to give Elmhurst an early 1-0 lead. Carroll's Kailey Leahy scored back-to-back goals over the next two minutes to put the Pioneers in front 2-1. Jamie Lawinger struck for consecutive goals for the Bluejays to give Elmhurst a 3-2 lead, but Carroll (4-9, 1-3 CCIW) closed the opening half on a roll, scoring seven straight goals to take a commanding 9-3 lead at the half. 

The two squads traded goals early in the second half before the Bluejays closed with three straight goals to make the final score 10-7.

Carroll outshot Elmhurst (4-8, 0-3 CCIW) 21-19 in the contest and had a 14-13 edge in ground balls. The Pioneers won 13-of-18 draw controls. 

LeRoy led Elmhurst in the loss, totaling four points on three goals and an assist. Lawinger and Ellen Brown added two goals apiece for the Bluejays in the loss. Grace Knoebel recorded fives saves in the net for the Bluejays. 

Leahy powered Carroll's offense in the win with seven points, scoring five goals and adding two assists. Donna January and Katie Majewski added two goals apiece for Carroll. Shelby Will earned the win net by recording six saves. 

Elmhurst travels to Augustana College on Saturday, April 23.
