Josh Arvidson scored the game-winning goal and
Nick King recorded a shutout to lead the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 1-0 road win over Wheaton College.
Elmhurst upped its overall record to 7-4-1 overall and evened its CCIW record at 2-2-1 and moved into fourth place in the CCIW standings with three conference games remaining. Wheaton fell to 3-7-3 overall and 1-3 in the CCIW with the loss.
Arvidson broke a scoreless tie in the 54th minute after heading home a feed from
Alec Gnass.
The Bluejays' defense made the goal stand up, limiting the Thunder to just eight shots in the contest and only three shots on goal.
King recorded his third shutout of the season by recording three saves. Justin Majeski took the loss in net for Wheaton, surrendering one goal while recording three saves.
Elmhurst plays at Loras College on Sunday, October 16.
