ELMHURST, Ill. –
Matt McNamara,
Andrew Hicks, and
Sam Johnson all scored their first career goals to propel the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over IIT.
McNamara opened the scoring in the eighth minute, finding the net off an assist from
Jeff Kading.

Andrew HicksIn the 19th minute, Kading took a penalty shot that was saved, but, Hicks, in his Elmhurst debut, picked up his teammate just a minute later, scoring on his first shot as a Bluejay.
Just four minutes later, Johnson notched his first tally, extending the Elmhurst lead to three.
In the 52nd minute,
Austin Larsen put the Bluejays out in front 4-0 off an assist from
Alec Gnass.
The Scarlet Hawks clawed back within two with a pair of late goals from Noah Griffith and Sergio Calvo Do Leon, but Elmhurst closed out its second win of the season.
IIT out shot Elmhurst 11-9, but the Bluejays converted on four of their five shots on goal.
Nick King earned the win, making three saves in net.
Elmhurst kicks off CCIW play this Saturday, October 3 at 3:30 p.m. when they host Wheaton College at Langhorst Field.
