LISLE, Ill. – Nine different players tallied goals to lead the Elmhurst men's lacrosse team to a 12-9 victory over Benedictine University.

Elmhurst won its fourth consecutive victory with the win, upping its record to 6-5 on the season. Benedictine slipped to 9-3 with the loss.

Benedictine's Corbin Gett scored less than three minutes into the opening quarter to put the Eagles on the scoreboard first, but the Bluejays answered back with three straight goals from
Dan Curley,
Alex Opyd and
Tyler Dailey. Benedictine scored twice in the final four minutes of the first quarter to pull even at 3-3.

Elmhurst and Benedictine traded a pair of goals in the second quarter to make the score 5-5 at the half.
Mal Euson and Jacob Cambron found the back of the net in the second for the Bluejays.

Elmhurst started strong in the third quarter, scoring three times in just 4:10.
Jackson Mandli netted his 11th goal of the season just 1:39 into the half to give Elmhurst a 6-5 lead. Dailey fired home his second goal of the game just 90 seconds later to put Elmhurst in front 7-5. Opyd connected for his second goal of the contest just one minute later to extend the Bluejays' lead to three goals.

David Blanco scored for Benedictine to cut the Bluejays' lead down to two, but
Joe Kovachevich netted his first goal of the season with 3:45 left in the quarter to give Elmhurst a 9-6 lead after 45 minutes.

Dominic DePinto scored midway through the fourth quarter for the Eagles, cutting Elmhurst's lead back to two, but the Bluejays scored three consecutive goals in the span of just 2:16 to help put the game out of reach.
Matt Westhaver scored a pair of goals sandwiched around a
Brandon Bethran goal to give Elmhurst a 12-7 lead. The Eagles scored twice in the final three minutes to make the final score 12-9.

Elmhurst outshot Benedictine 41-22, including 19-11 in the second half, Elmhurst also had an advantage in ground balls (47 to 31) and faceoffs (16 to nine).

Westhaver, Opyd and Dailey tallied two goals apiece to pace Elmhurst's attack. Opyd also tallied an assist to finish with three points. Euson also finished with a three-point night on two assists and a goal. Cambron also finished with multiple points with a goal and an assist.

Bethan won 15-of-23 faceoffs and also totaled 10 ground balls in the victory. Mandli finished with seven ground balls while Cambron totaled six.
Nick Bonastia picked up the victory in goal for Elmhurst, recording 12 saves in the victory.

Dominic DePinto, Tony DePinto and Corbin Gett all totaled two goals apiece to pace Benedictine in the loss. Jeremy Voyda suffered the loss in net, allowing 12 goals while recording seven saves.
