Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Team Topples Carroll 18-4

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team scored its first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin victory by defeating Carroll University 18-4. 

Phoebe LeRoy, Nikki Togami and Meghan Keyes combined to score 16 goals to lead the Bluejays in the victory. Elmhurst evened its overall record at 7-7 with the win and improved to 1-3 in the CCIW.
 
Elmhurst dominated the game from start to finish, outshooting Carroll 31-10 and controlling most of the action. The Bluejays scored the game's first 10 goals before Carroll (0-12, 0-6 CCIW) scored three straight to close the half.
 
Togami scored back-to-back goals less than two minutes into the contest to stake Elmhurst to an early 2-0 lead. LeRoy , Krystyna Kotlinski and Keyes then scored in succession to put Elmhurst in front 5-0. LeRoy followed with three straight goals to give Elmhurst an eight-goal cushion just 16:35 into the contest. Togami and Natalie Tylka added back-to-back tallies to cap Elmhurst's 10-0 run.
 
Carroll added goals from Marcy Monaco, Kailey Leahy and Betty Koenig before the first half to trim Elmhurst's lead down to seven at halftime.
 
Elmhurst scored four straight goals to start the second half before Carroll's Hannah Morrow tallied the fourth goal of the game for the Pioneers. LeRoy, Togami and Keyes tallied the final three goals for the Bluejays.
 
LeRoy paced Elmhurst's offense in the victory with a team-leading eight points. She scored six goals and added two assists while winning three draw controls.  Togami added seven points, scoring five times and adding a pair of assists to go along with five draw controls. Keyes tacked on six points for the Bluejays with five goals and an assist. Kotlinski and Tylka both collected goals while Aja Brown added an assist. Grace Knoebel earned the victory in goal for Elmhurst, recording four saves while recording her seventh victory of the season.
 
Koenig tallied two points for Carroll on a goal and an assist. Mary Kathryn Williams suffered the loss in goal, surrendering 18 goals while recording eight saves.
 
Elmhurst hosts Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 22.
