Women's Lacrosse Team Cruises To Third Straight Win

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Nikki Togami scored seven goals as the Elmhurst women's lacrosse team cruised to its third straight victory by toppling Loras College 12-4.

Togami, Phoebe LeRoy and Meghan Keyes combined to score all 12 of Elmhurst's goals as the Bluejays turned a two-goal lead into an eight-goal victory.

LeRoy scored just 2:03 into the contest and Keyes followed with a goal less than three minutes later to stake Elmhurst to a quick two-goal advantage. Keyes added her second goal of the game midway through the opening half to put the Bluejays in front 3-0.

Loras cut into the lead with an Anna Schwalbe goal from free position, but Togami scored two goals just 51 seconds apart to put Elmhurst in front 5-1. Loras' Haley Sundquist scored from free position with 1:44 left to make the score 5-2 at the half.

LeRoy netted her 10th goal of the season early in the second, but Loras used back-to-back goals from Hannah Nelson and Kaitlyn Kutsch to cut Elmhurst's lead down to two.

LeRoy tallied her third goal of the game with 14:35 left to help put the Bluejays back in front by three. Togami took over down the stretch, scoring five straight goals in the final 13 minutes, including four in the final five minutes, to put the game out of reach.

Elmhurst outshot Loras 23-15 and had a 16-11 edge in ground balls.

Togami finished with a season-high seven goals to pace Elmhurst's offense. It marked her third consecutive game of recording a hat trick of three or more goals. LeRoy finished with her own hat trick, netting three goals and totaling three ground balls. Keyes added two goals and an assist to finish with three points. Krystyna Kotlinski also registered an assist for the Bluejays.

Grace Knoebel earned the win in goal for the Bluejays, recording seven saves and allowing just four goals.

Sundquist, Kutsch, Schwalbe, and Nelson accounted for all of Loras' offense. Ashley Mcgee took the loss in goal, allowing 12 goals while recording five saves.

Elmhurst returns home to host Muskingum College on Sunday, March 29, at 8:30 a.m.
