MAUTSON, Wis. - The Elmhurst baseball team capped an undefeated weekend with a 9-1 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Bluejays evened their season record at 3-3 with the victory and won their third straight contest in the process.

Elmhurst grabbed an early lead from right the start. A.J. Compton doubled to lead off the bottom of the first and came home to score on Zach Tsiodras' RBI double.
 

The Bluejays tacked on two runs in the bottom of the six. With two on and two out, Kalvin Thongchamleunsouk doubled to left to drive in Tsiodras and Nick Cusumano, giving Elmhurst a three-run cushion.

MSOE scored a run in the top of the seventh, but Elmhurst answered back with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Tsiodras delivered a two-run single early in the inning and Thongchamleunsouk cracked a ground-rule double to drive in two late in the inning.

The Bluejays packed on a pair of insurance runs in the eighth. Greg Struck drew a bases loaded walk to force in a run and Edgar Ross hit a sacrifice fly to account for the Bluejays' final run of the game.

Thongchamleunsouk and Tsiodras provided most of the Bluejays' offense, combining for five hits and seven RBI. Thongchamleunsouk knocked in four runs with his pair of doubles while Tsiodras banged out three hits and drove in three. Travis Pickard also had a multiple hit day, finishing with a single and a double. Compton scored three runs in the Bluejays' win.

Ben Havel picked up the win for the Bluejays, evening his record at 1-1 on the season. Havel tossed six innings and allowed just three hits and one earned run. He walked four and struck out four. Ryan Millan and Ivan Neverez combined for three scoreless innings of relief.

Elmhurst takes on Lawrence University in a doubleheader on March 21, at the RussMatt Tournament in Florida.
