Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Elmhurst baseball team opened its spring break trip to Florida by splitting a doubleheader with Lawrence University.

Elmhurst (4-4 overall) hammered Lawrence 24-11 in the opening game before dropping the night cap 7-4. 

ELMHURST 24, LAWRENCE 11 (Game One) - Elmhurst erupted for 24 hits while recording their fourth consecutive victory in a 24-11 slugfest. 

The Bluejays trailed 8-2 after two innings, but Elmhurst posted five runs in the fourth, seven in the fifth and added a combined 10 runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Brandon Kressner led Elmhurst's offense with four hits. He scored two runs and drove in three. Kalvin Thongchamleunsouk and Reagan McReynolds each totaled three hits and drove in four runs in the victory. Nick Cusumano scored a pair of runs and drove in two while Greg Struck finished with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. 

Mike Rostine picked up the victory in relief. He worked 4.1 innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out four in the victory.

LAWRENCE 7, ELMHURST 3 (Game Two) - Lawrence salvaged a doubleheader split by scoring four runs in the final two innings to rally for a 7-3 victory.

Zach Tsiodras led Elmhurst's offense with three hits and one RBI. Kressner and Thongchamleunsouk added two hits apiece while each driving in a run.

Jeff Guzzi made the start and earned a no-decision, allowing five hits and three earned runs. He walked two and struck out four. Nick Drago took the loss in relief, allowing a pair of unearned runs while walking two in one-third of an inning.

The Bluejays will face Hamilton College tomorrow, March 22.
