ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team slipped to 0-2 on the season after dropping their home-opener at Langhorst Field 14-2 to Albion College.
Albion (3-0) outshot Elmhurst 37-7 for the game and controlled most of the action on the offensive end of the field.
Elmhurst's defense limited Albion to only three goals for the first 15 minutes of the opening half. Albion's Ashley Glenn scored with 26:42 left and Kit Maher gave the Brittons a 2-0 lead nine minutes later.
The Bluejays sliced the lead in half just 90 seconds later.

Megan Lees in front of the net and Lees connected for her first goal of the season.
Albion went up 3-1 a minute later on Mackenzie Novak's free position goal. The Brittons added five more goals in the half's final 15 minutes to lead 8-1 at the break.

Meghan KeyesAlbion scored the first three goals of the second half to build a 10-goal lead, but Keyes fired home a goal from free position to make the score 11-2. The Brittons scored the final three tallies of the game to earn the 14-2 victory.
Elmhurst struggled with its possession, committing 25 turnovers while Albion gave the ball away just 12 times.
Glenn sparked the Brittons' offense with six points, scoring five goals and adding one assist. Novak added four goals and a pair of assists to also finish with six points. Julie Wood found the back of the net twice for Albion.
Victoria Della Pia earned the win in net for Albion, recording five saves and allowing two goals.
Keyes led Elmhurst's attack with three points, finishing with a goal and an assist.
Grace Knoebel recorded 15 saves in goal for the Bluejays while taking the loss.
Elmhurst hosts John Carroll University on Saturday, March 14.
