ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 contest in overtime against North Central.
Defense dominated the first half, as the teams combined for just six total shots. However, the Cardinals (3-10, 2-1 CCIW) were able to take the lead in the 25
th minute. Matt Koth dribbled past Bluejay defenders and buried his second goal of the season.

Alec Gnass knotted the game at one in the 53
rd minute by scoring his third goal in two CCIW games on a header.
The teams remained scoreless the rest of regulation and headed to overtime. Just 25 second into overtime, North Central's Koth netted the game-winning goal.
Elmhurst out shot the Cardinals 9-8, but North Central led with five shots on goal to the Bluejays' three.
Nick King made three saves for Elmhurst, but took the loss, while North Central's Justin De Boer stopped two shots.
Elmhurst (4-8-1, 1-2 CCIW) hosts Millikin for senior day this Saturday, October 17 at 4:30 p.m.
