Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season after falling 2-1 to Hope College at Langhorst Field.
 

Elmhurst (2-1) fell behind early as Hope's Brandon Underwood got past an Elmhurst defender and fed David Porte for a blast to the upper part of the goal just 2:34 into the contest.

After totaling just five shots in the opening half, the Bluejays picked up the pace in the second half, peppering the Hope goal with shots. Elmhurst scored the equalizer in the 51st minute as Michael Delong flipped a header to Mike Emig on the outside. Emig raced past a pair of defenders and blasted home his second goal of the season.

Hope scored the game winner in the 63rd minute. Cameron Dice sent a cross towards the top of the box to Underwood. Underwood fired a low short toward the corner of the net, that took a bad hop over the arms of Elmhurst keeper John Reglin.

Elmhurst outshot Hope 17-10 in the contest, including a 12-6 advantage in the second half. The Bluejays also had a 9-6 edge in corner kicks.,

Hope's Ethan Boswick earned the win in net with six saves while Reglin recorded one save for the Bluejays.

Elmhurst hosts Calvin College tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
