Box Score WHEATON, Ill. – The Elmhurst men's soccer team's season came to a close after falling 5-2 to Wheaton College in the CCIW Tournament Championship.

Elmhurst (11-5-4) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as
Josh Rudd hammered a shot into the upper corner of the net off a feed from
Andrew Moore. The goal came just 10:03 into the contest and gave Elmhurst a quick 1-0 early lead.

Josh RuddThe Bluejays' lead didn't last as Stephen Golz scored off a feed from Jon Clark less than two minutes later to pull Wheaton even. Just four minutes later, the Thunder went on top off a corner kick goal. Golz headed home a corner kick from Noah Anthony for his second goal of the night.

Wheaton extended its lead to two goals off a Marshall Hollingsworth goal with just over a minute remaining in the half. Elliot Borge sent a free kick that was touched on by Anthony and sent home by Hollingsworth.Â

Elmhurst answered back with just 18 seconds left on the clock in the first half. An Elmhurst free kick was punched out by Wheaton keeper Matt Paprocki but the ball squirted loose to the feet of
Michael Delong and Delong scored his sixth goal of the season to bring Elmhurst to within a goal at halftime.

Wheaton pushed its lead back to two goals early in the second half as Adam Blackman scored off an assist from Golz. Elliot Borge helped put the game away for the Thunder, scoring his fourth goal of the season in the 70th minute.

Wheaton (18-3), ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA national poll outshot Elmhurst 20-7 in the contest.

John Reglin allowed two goals in net for the Bluejays.
Nick King allowed three goals while recording six saves in relief. Paprocki stopped one shot for the Thunder.
