ELMHURST, Ill. – Mike Emig scored a pair of goals to help lift the Elmhurst men's soccer team past Illinois Wesleyan University 4-1.

Elmhurst improve to 10-3-3 overall and 3-1-1 in the CCIW with the win while Illinois Wesleyan slipped to 7-11 overall and 1-5 in league play.

Mike EmigThe Bluejays raced out to a 3-0 lead in the opening half with a three-goal outburst over the span of 15 minutes. Emig put the Bluejays on the scoreboard in the 14
th minute, collecting a pass from
Michael Delong and racing past an Illinois Wesleyan defender down the sideline. Emig cut in towards the middle of the box and fired and a shot to the far post that deflected off of Illinois Wesleyan keeper Erick Eklin and trickled into the net.

The Bluejays needed just over a minute to pad their lead.
Jeff Kading's free kick was headed by
Brad Yarwood off of Eklin. Yarwood pounced on the rebound and fired the ball into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

Christian MullinElmhurst made it 3-0 in the 28th minute. Delong crossed a pass towards the center of the box and
Christian Mullin stepped around a defender and blasted the ball home into the corner of the net.

Emig collected his second goal of the contest and fifth of the season in the 59th minute.
Josh Rudd sent a cross off of a Titan defender and the ball bounced free to Emig who scored on a 15-yard shot.

Illinois Wesleyan ended Elmhurst's three-game shutout streak in the 82nd minute. Robert Spenard sent a pass between a pair of Elmhurst defenders and Dion Karas beat Elmhurst keeper
Nathaniel Pauer to give the Titans their only goal of the game.

Illinois Wesleyan had a slim 12-10 advantage on shots, but the Titans put only four shots on net.
John Reglin made the start in goal for the Bluejays and recorded four saves while playing over 75 minutes, lowering his goals allowed season average to 0.37.

Eklin and Mark Streid split time in net for the Titans. Each keeper allowed two goals while recording one save.
