OLIVET, Mich. - Brett Stiffler and Michael Delong scored first half goals to lead the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 2-1 road win at Olivet College.
Elmhurst improved to 2-1 on the season with the victory.
Stiffler put Elmhurst on the scoreboard just 9:33 into the contest with his first collegiate goal. Stiffler headed home a corner kick from Kenson Badeau to give the Bluejays a 1-0 lead.
Delong blasted home his second goal of the season in the 34th minute to put Elmhurst up 2-0 at halftime.
Olivet's Jon Puente cut the lead in half, scoring off a feed from Adam Wright in the 55th minute. Elmhurst held Olivet scoreless for the remaineder of the game to come away with the win.
Olivet outshot Elmhurst 23-16 in the contest.
Nathaniel Pauer made the start in goal and earned the win for Elmhurst. Pauer stopped five shots and allowed just one goal. Olivet's Alex Lang was tagged with the loss, surrendering two goals and recording two saves in 38 minutes.
Elmhurst travels to Dominican on September 11.
