Box Score CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Elmhurst men's soccer team upped its record to 5-2-1 after shutting out Coe College 3-0.

Elmhurst took advantage of a Coe mistake to break a scoreless tie and lead 1-0 at the half. With less than a minute left on the clock, Coe's clearing attempt was deflected into the net for an own goal, giving the Bluejays the 1-0 cushion at the break.

The Bluejays tacked on a pair of goals in the second half to put the game out of reach. A foul on Coe in the box led to an Elmhurst penalty kick in the 60th minute. Austin Haas blasted home his fourth goal of the season to put Elmhurst on top 2-0. The Bluejays iced the game less than four minutes later. Andrew Moore scored his first goal of the season off of assists from Josh Rudd and Andrew Witzofsky to make the final score 3-0.

Elmhurst outshot Coe 17-7 in the contest and enjoyed a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.

John Reglin and Nathaniel Pauer combined for the shutout. Reglin stopped four shots while playing 82 minutes. Coe's Eric Hoar took the loss in net after allowing three goals while recording three saves.

Elmhurst travels to Concordia University (Wis.) on Saturday (September 28).
