Box Score KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team suffered its first CCIW loss of the season after falling 4-2 at Carthage College.
Elmhurst (9-3-3, 2-1-2 CCIW) fell behind 4-0 to Carthage (12-4-1, 4-1-1 CCIW) before scoring the game's final two goals. The loss ended the Bluejays' seven-game unbeaten streak.
Carthage jumped on the scoreboard in the 13th minute with a goal from Erhan Caglayan in the 13th minute. The Red Men made it 2-0 when Billy Hamilton scored his second goal of the season in the 36th minute. Less than five minutes later Ryan Crane tallied his sixth goal of the season, scoring of a Michael Dombrowski feed. Crane's goal gave the Red Men a 3-0 lead at the half. The Red Men outshot Elmhurst 13-1 in the opening half.
Taylor Pignataro scored on a penalty kick in the 60th minute to stake Carthage to a 4-0 lead.
Brad Yarwood scored on a free kick in the 78th minute to put the Bluejays on the scoreboard.
Jeff Kading added a goal in the 87th minute by scoring on a penalty kick.
Carthage outshot Elmhurst 21-11 for the contest.
John Reglin recorded nine saves in goal for Elmhurst while taking the loss. Nick Huftalin earned the win for Carthage in goal, playing 77 minutes and recording one save. Lucas Dykstra finished in goal for Carthage, allowing two goals and recording two saves in 13 minutes.
Elmhurst travels to Augustana College on Saturday, October 26.
