Box Score - Mikey Emig scored a pair of second half goals to lead the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Concordia University (Wis.) at Langhorst Field.

After a scoreless opening half, Emig put Elmhurst (6-3) on top in the 50th minute when he collected a ball that deflected off a Concordia player and raced in for a breakaway. Emig beat Concordia keeper Sam Ische to lower right corner to put the Bluejays up 1-0.

Concordia (4-5) scored the equalizer in the 81st minute. Kyle Sytsman headed a ball just over the hands of a leaping Elmhurst keeper John Reglin. The ball hit the cross bar and then bounced off of Reglin just over the goal line to even the score at one.

The tie lasted less than two minutes as Emig used his speed to score the game winner. Christian Mullin fired a long pass down the middle and Emig won a foot race against his defender and broke in for a one-on-one scoring chance. Emig tucked the ball past Ische to put the Bluejays on top for good.

Elmhurst outshot Concordia 14-10 in the contest and enjoyed a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

Elmhurst plays at the Colorado College Tournament this weekend (September 29-30).
