Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - David Griggs knocked home a rebound goal with less than 30 seconds to play to lead the Elmhurst College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Central College at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst improved to 4-3 with the win while Central slipped to 2-4-1.

The back-and-forth contest was scoreless for over 89 minutes before the Bluejays scored the game-winner.

A corner kick with less than a minute to play helped set up Griggs' goal. A shot by the Bluejays was saved by Central keeper Travis Yets, but the rebound came loose to Griggs, who fired the ball into the net with 30.7 seconds left on the clock.

Elmhurst outshot Central 20-11 in the contest and enjoyed an 8-2 edge in corner kick opportunities.

John Reglin recorded four saves, including a pair from point blank range in the second half to secure his second shutout of the season for Elmhurst.

Yets finished with 11 saves in net for the Dutch.

Elmhurst hosts Coe College on Wednesday (September 19).
