Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team slipped to 3-3 on the season following a 2-1 loss to the University of Dubuque.
Dubuque (4-2) scored on a pair of rebound goals to earn the victory. The Spartans Cory WInkler struck first, scoring in the 16th minute. Winkler collected a rebound in the box and found the back of the net to stake Dubuque to a 1-0 lead.
Elmhurst evened the score in the 41st minute when
Austin Haas sent a pass downfield to spring
Michael Delong for a breakaway goal.
Dubuque's NIck McDonald scored the game-winner in the 81st minute. McDonald collected his own rebound off of a
John Reglin save and tapped home the goal.
Elmhurst had a slight 18-15 shots advantage in the contest.
Reglin recorded four saves in goal for the Bluejays while Dubuque's Jake O'Rourke stopped six shots to earn the win for the Spartans.
Elmhurst hosts Central College on Sunday (September 16).
