Elmhurst Men's Soccer Team Blanked By Carthage

Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - A Carthage goal with less than seven minutes left in regulation resulted in the Elmhurst men's soccer team suffering a 1-0 loss to the Red Men at Langhorst Field.

Carthage (13-5, 3-3 CCIW) broke a scoreless tie in the 84th minute when Michael Dembrowski redirected a Jordan Innis cross into the back of the net.

Elmhurst (8-10, 0-6 CCIW) had a few scoring chances, but Carthage keeper Milan Tijanic made a diving save on a Michael Delong shot in the first half, and then saved an Alex Safford shot off a corner kick in the second half.

Carthage outshot Elmhurst 15-6 in the contest, including a 10-3 edge in the second half.

John Reglin recorded seven saves in net for the Bluejays while taking the loss. Tijanic earned the shutout in goal for Carthage with four saves.

Elmhurst closes out the 2012 season by hosting Augustana College on Saturday (October 27) at 7:30 p.m.
