ELMHURST, Ill. - Matt Sterner and Austin Haas both netted goals to lead the Elmhurst College men's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout win over Olivet College.

Elmhurst (2-1) jumped on the scoreboard in the 13th minute after an Olivet foul just outside the box. Matt Sterner bent the ensuing free kick around the wall and into the corner of the net to give the Bluejays a 1-0 cushion.

Haas sealed the win with a goal in the 68th minute. Keith Thurman sent a cross into the box that Haas headed home for his first goal of the season.

Elmhurst outshot Olivet 11-8 and had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. 

John Reglin earned his first career shutout in goal for the Bluejays by stopping all five shots he faced.

Elmhurst hosts Adrian College on Friday, September 9.
