DUBUQUE, Iowa - Dubuque University scored three second-half goals to score a 3-0 victory over the Elmhurst College men's soccer team.
The loss was Elmhurst's third straight, and the Bluejays have been kept off the scoreboard for four consecutive games.
Elmhurst (4-4-2) outshot Dubuque (6-2-1) 7-2 in the opening half, but the Spartans turned the table in the second half, outshooting the Bluejays 17-6 and finding the back of the net three times.
Pablo Martinez tallied the first score for Dubuque, connecting off of a Jack Stefanski assist in the 66th minute. Less than four minutes later, the Spartans grabbed a two-goal lead when Nick McDonald scored from a Glenn Verley assist. Derek Garcia tacked on a goal in the 84th minute off of a Sam McKee feed.
Dubuque outshot Elmhurst 19-12 in the contest despite Elmhurst having a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
Jake Hunstiger took the loss in goal for the Bluejays, allowing three goals and recording three saves. Nicholas Kasper earned the win in net for the Spartans, stopping all three shots he faced.
Elmhurst will try to snap its three-game slide on Saturday when the Bluejays open CCIW play by hosting North Park University.
