Bluejays Drop One-Goal Contest at Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. -
The Elmhurst College men's soccer team had its six-game unbeaten streak snapped in a 1-0 loss at the University of Chicago.

Chicago (5-1-1) scored in the 13th minute and made the goal stand up for the remainder of the game. Michael Choquette collected Kyle Kurfirst's cross and slipped the ball past Elmhurst keeper John Reglin into the back of the net. Chicago outshot Elmhurst 7-0 in the opening half.

Chicago outshot the Bluejays 7-1 in the second half to close out the contest with a 14-1 shots advantage. Chicago also had a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

Reglin allowed just one goal while recording eight saves in goal for the Bluejays. Elek Lane stopped the only shot he faced to earn the shutout in net for the Maroons.

Elmhurst returns home to host St. Olaf College on Saturday (September 24) at Berens Park.
