KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst College men's soccer team moved to 4-4-4 on the season by playing Carthage College to a 2-2 draw.
Elmhurst (0-0-2 in CCIW play) jumped on the scoreboard first when
Brett Harper scored his first goal of the season in the 24th minute off of an assist from
Matt Sterner.
Carthage (7-4-2, 1-0-1 CCIW) evened the match at 1-1 just 1:03 into the second half on Rafal Zalewski's goal of of Jordan Innis' pass.
Brian McMahon broke the tie just a few minutes later to put the Bluejays back on top. McMahon knocked home
Ken Miller's corner kick in the 52nd minute to give Elmhurst a 2-1 lead.
Carthage's Mike Heika scored the equalizer in the 67th minute when he scored off of a free kick.
Carthage outshot Elmhurst 24-10 in the contest, including a 4-0 edge in both overtime periods.
John Reglin helped preserve the tie for Elmhurst by stopping 14 shots in goal for the Bluejays. Milan Tijanic recorded six saves in the net for Carthage.
Elmhurst travels to North Central College on Wednesday, October 12.
