ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team, ranked 25th in the latest AVCA poll, improved to 14-4 overall and 2-2 in the CCIW with a 25-20, 25-19, 24-26, 25-17 victory at Augustana College.

Elmhurst took the opening two sets before Augustana (7-10, 1-3 CCIW) forced a fourth-set by winning the third 26-24. Elmhurst finished off the match with a 25-17 win in the fourth set.

Megan Reynolds and Sam Szarmach pounded down 13 kills apiece to lead the Bluejays in the victory. Reynolds added a team-leading seven blocks while Szarmach tallied three blocks. Kaitlyn Wilks added eight kills. Perrie Morgan totaled 25 digs and two aces while Erin Thill led the squad in assists with 37 while adding nine digs.

Augustana was led by Brianna Skeens' 14-kill, three-block performance. Emily Leazer added 13 kills and 15 digs for the Vikings in the loss. Kelsey Mikula led the squad in assists with 37.

Elmhurst hosts 22nd-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Thursday (October 6).
