Box Score

ELMHURST, Ill.
- The Elmhurst College men's soccer team improved to 7-5-4 overall and 2-2-1 with a 4-2 victory over Wheaton College at Langhorst Field.

Ken Miller registered four points to lead Elmhurst in the win, recording the game-winning goal and assisting on two others.

Wheaton (8-7-2, 2-2-1 CCIW) jumped on the scoreboard just 51 seconds into the game when Drew Golz fed his brother Jordan Golz down the middle for a one-on-one situation. Jordan Golz beat Elmhurst keeper John Reglin to put the Thunder on top 1-0.

The Thunder's lead lasted a little more than 12 minutes before the Bluejays answered back. Miller drove around a Wheaton defender near the end line. After a hesitation, Wheaton keeper Ryan Seager charged out of the net to try and take away Miller's angle, but Miller slid a pass to an open Matt Sterner who tapped home the game-tying goal.

Elmhurst jumped on top with just 1:01 remaining in the half. Miller hit Austin Haas with a centering pass down the middle. Haas fired from 20 yards out and the rising shot tipped off of Seager's leaping hands and into the back of the net giving Elmhurst a 2-1 lead at the half.

The Bluejays made it 3-1 nine minutes into the second half when Miller headed home a corner kick from Sterner in he 55th minute.

Wheaton sliced the lead Bluejay's lead down to 3-2 just three minutes later when Drew Golz scored his 10th goal of the season.

Elmhurst sealed the win in the 74th minute with their fourth goal of the game. Keith Thurman worked his way past two Wheaton defenders into the goal box and slid a pass to a wide open Brian McMahon in front of the net. McMahon knocked the ball home for his third goal of the season to give Elmhurst a 4-2 lead.

Wheaton outshot Elmhurst 18-15 in the game, but the Bluejays had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

Reglin recorded seven saves in goal for the Bluejays while Seager stopped four shots for the Thunder.
