ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team, ranked 19th in the latest AVCA national poll, improved won its eighth straight match by toppling North Park University 25-5, 25-12, 25-17.
Elmhurst (21-4, 4-2 CCIW) made short work of North Park (11-14, 0-6 CCIW), dispatching the Vikings in three quick sets.
The Bluejays cruised to a 25-5 win in the opening set, using six aces to help secure the 20-point win. Elmhurst cruised to a 13-point win in the second set and finished the match with an eight-point win in the third set.
Megan Reynolds led Elmhurst in the win, finishing with eight kills in only 11 attempts. She added six blocks in Elmhurst's win.
Antonéya Veasy Smith added six kills while
Sam Szarmach finished with four kills, four aces, and two blocks.
Marci Novak,
Jackie Pavilonis,
Kaitlyn Wilks, and
Taylor Rasmussen totaled three kills apiece in the victory. Wilks added three aces and two blocks for the Bluejays.
Erin Thill led the squad in assists with 18 while
Katie Rueffer finished with 13.
The Bluejays host the Elmhurst College Invitational on October 21-22.
