ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's cross country team totaled 269 points to place seventh at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.
The Bluejays placed seventh, finishing 11 points in front of Monmouth College (eighth place with 280 points) and just six points behind sixth-place finisher Greenville College (263 points). The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point captured the team title with 23 points.
Pat Austin placed 12th to pace the Bluejays. Austin crossed the finish line with a time of 25:30.1.
Jake Austin finished in 41st place with a time of 26:10.2 while
Doug Vrchota placed 82nd in 26:41.0.
Tom McGrath turned in a time of 27:01.7 to place 109th and
Nathan Selling completed the Bluejays' team score by finishing in 129th place in 27:19.6.
David Melone (161st place in 27:46.7) and
Jeff Slavick (166th place in 27:48.1) completed the Bluejays' top-seven.
Elmhurst travels to Wartburg College on October 2, to run at the Pre-National Invitational.
