Bluejay Volleyball Team Falls to Carthage in Four Sets

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team dropped to 10-8 overall and 2-2 in CCIW play after falling in four sets to seventh-ranked Carthage College.

The Lady Reds improved to 16-5 overall and 4-0 in league play with a 25-15, 16-25, 25-21, 25-15 victory over the Bluejays.

Megan Reynolds led the Bluejays in the loss with eight kills and four blocks. Hannah Lessen added eight kills and 11 digs while Janelle Thompson and Paige Fombelle totaled seven kills apiece in the loss.Katie Rueffer finished with a team-leading 22 assists and two aces. Perrie Morgan recorded a team-leading 19 digs in the loss. 

Michelle Madeja paced Carthage in the win with 13 kills and four blocks. Rachel Swoboda added 10 kills while Jordan Burkholder totaled eight kills and five blocks. 

Elmhurst travels to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Tournament on October 8-9.
