RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's soccer team moved to 2-1-1 overall after playing eighth-ranked Dominican University to a 1-1 draw in double overtime.
After a scoreless first half, Dominican (2-0-1) jumped on the scoreboard when Edwin Lagunas scored off a rebound shot from Michael Kapusta in the 56th minute.
Elmhurst evened the score in the 77th minute when Ken Miller found the back of the net. Keith Thurman and Kyle Smith both collected assists on Miller's goal.
Both teams struggled to generate scoring chances in either of the two overtime periods. Dominican managed the only shot on goal in the first extra period.
Dominican outshot Elmhurst 27-7 and had a 7-2 shots on goal advantage.
Sebastian Domczewski recorded six saves in goal for Elmhurst while allowing just one goal in 110 minutes.
Elmhurst hosts Robert Morris University-Lake County on Sunday, September 13, at 1:00 p.m.
