Elmhurst Volleyball Team Wins Pair at Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team upped its record to 3-5 overall by scoring a pair of wins at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.

Elmhurst defeated St. Norbert College 25-16, 25-22, 25-14 to start the day and finished the tournament with a 25-12, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17 victory over Carroll University.

ELMHURST 3, ST. NORBERT 0 - Elmhurst kicked off the second day of the tournament with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-14 win over St. Norbert. Caitlin O'Hara led Elmhurst with 12 kills in the victory. Lisa Burger finished with nine kills while Melissa Miehlke added eight. Katie Buechel recorded a team-high 22 digs while Erin Thill led the Bluejays in assists with 25. Paige Fombelle added five blocks in the victory.

ELMHURST 3, CARROLL 1 - The Bluejays won their second straight match by toppling Carroll 25-12, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17. O'Hara led the Bluejays with 10 kills while Fombelle totaled eight kills. Lindy Melville led the squad in assists with 18 while Buechel totaled a team-leading 18 digs. Jameela Chaudhry added four aces and 15 digs in the victory.

Thill was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts.

Elmhurst begins CCIW play on Tuesday, September 15, by hosting North Park University at 7:00 p.m.
