ORANGE, Calif. - The Elmhurst College men's basketball team fell to 1-2 overall after falling to Chapman University 81-66.

Chapman (4-0) never trailed in the contest and led 40-30 at the half. Leading 20-19 with eight minutes left in the half, Chapman used a 20-11 run to take a 10-point lead into the locker room at halftime. 

Elmhurst never got closer than a nine-point deficit in the second half.

The Bluejays shot 45.5 percent (20-of-44) from the floor, including 20.0 percent (2-of-10) from beyond the arc. Chapman finished the game shooting a whopping 70.3 percent from the floor and missed only 11 shots in the entire contest (26-of-37). Chapman also dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Bluejays by 12 (28-16).

Zack Boydled Elmhurst in the loss with 17 points. Dustin Bainter added 12 points while Aaron Schroeder, Mike McCurdy, and Matt Bernier all scored six points apiece.

Chapman was led Kyle Wood's 19 points. Justin Riley finished with 16 points and Griffin Ramme added 14. 

Elmhurst faces the University of Redlands on November 29.
