DECATUR, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's soccer team kept its CCIW record unblemished by scoring three second half goals to rally past Millikin University 3-1.
With the win, the Bluejays upped their conference record to 4-0 and moved to 9-3-1 overall.
Millikin (5-7-1) grabbed a 1-0 first half lead when Steve Kroll scored on a rebound shot from Matt Laude less than seven minutes into the game. The Big Blue kept Elmhurst off the scoreboard for the remainder of the half and carried a 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Elmhurst answered back with a three-goal outburst in the second half. Randy Warren evened the score with a penalty kick just 1:19 into the second half.
The Bluejays grabbed the lead in the 73rd minute when Kyle Wright scored on a rebound after Wright sent a shot off the goalpost.
Matt Sterner sealed the win in the 86th minute by scoring on a breakaway goal.
Sebastian Domczewski earned the win in goal by allowing just one goal and recording three saves. Derrek Schwartz took the loss in net for Millikin by allowing three goals while stopping five shots.
Elmhurst hosts North Park University at Berens Park on Wednesday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m.
