ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team evened its record at 9-9 overall by toppling Millikin University 20-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-22. With the victory, the Bluejays improved to 3-2 in conference play.

Millikin (14-10, 1-3 CCIW) jumped out to an early lead by taking the opening set 25-20. Elmhurst responded by scoring back-to-back 25-16 wins to take a 2-1 lead.

The Bluejays built an early lead in the fourth set, but Millikin fought back to knot the score at 22-22. The Bluejays closed the match on a 3-0 run to score the victory.

Meghan Mullaney led the charge for Elmhurst with a team-leading 14 kills. Caitlin O'Hara added 12 kills and four blocks while Antonéya Veasy Smith chipped in with eight kills. Paige Fombelle totaled eight kills and a team-leading five blocks in the victory. Lindy Melville led the squad in assists with 22 while Erin Thill totaled 18. Katie Buechel finished with a team-leading 14 digs and three aces.

Elmhurst travels to the Washington University (Mo.) Invitational this weekend (October 6-7).
