ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team slipped to 3-3 in CCIW competition following a 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 loss to sixth-ranked Carthage College. The Bluejays dropped to 11-12 overall with the defeat.

Carthage (18-2, 5-0 CCIW) raced out to a quick two-set lead by scoring identical 25-16, 25-16 wins in the opening sets. The Lady Reds sealed the match with a 25-16 win in the third and final set.

Caitlin O'Hara led the Bluejays in the loss with six kills and three blocks. Antonéya Veasy Smith and Meghan Mullaney each finished with five kills in the loss. Lindy Melville totaled 12 assists while Katie Buechel recorded eight digs.

The Bluejays host the Elmhurst College Invitational this weekend (October 16-17).
