ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team fell to 5-4 overall following a 25-27, 25-21, 23-25, 21-25 loss to Wheaton College.

The Bluejays slipped to 0-1 in CCIW play while Wheaton improved to 4-7 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Morgan Jones (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) finished the contest with 11 kills and two blocks to pace the Bluejays in the loss. Caitlin O'Hara (Lemont/H.S.) added nine kills and a team-high five blocks while Alison Friedrich (Wadsworth/Zion-Benton) added 10 kills. Emily Hilliker (Franklin Grove/Ashton Franklin) totaled 27 assists while Lindy Melville (Jenison, Mich./H.S.) totaled 13 assists. Katie Buechel (Fond du Lac, Wis./H.S.) finished with a team-high 26 digs while Meghan Mullaney (Elmhurst/York) finished with 13 digs.

Elmhurst hosts Lake Forest College on Thursday, September 18.
