Men's Soccer Improves to 2-0 in CCIW

ELMHURST, Ill. - Jon Brehm and Tim Piotrowski each scored a pair of goals as the Elmhurst College men's soccer team improved to 2-0 in the CCIW following a 4-1 win over Millikin at home on Sunday afternoon.

The Bluejays netted the first goal in the 20th minute when Jon Brehm finished a penalty kick for his first goal of the match. Tim Piotrowski tallied his first career goal at the 43 minute mark, finishing a throw in from Kevin Davey.

Elmhurst made it 3-0 when Brehm converted on another penalty kick early in the second half in the 55th minute. The goal was Brehm's 12th finder of the season. He scored four goals on the week in helping Elmhurst win their first two CCIW matches.

Millikin (8-3-2, 1-1) netted its only marker in the 67th minute to pull within 3-1 when Matt Laude fired in a loose ball in the box from eight yards away. Tim Piotrowski finished the scoring with his second goal of the afternoon, connecting after Jacob Misel headed a ball towards Brian McMahon who crossed to Piotrowski.

Sebastian Domczewski tallied a pair of saves for the Bluejays in his 66 minutes of work while Daren Scarberry also stopped a Millikin shot. The Bluejays outshot the Big Blue 14-11 in the match. Matt Sterner led Elmhurst with four shots while Tim Piotrowski finished with three.

Elmhurst (10-2, 2-0) will play a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon against UW-Platteville at 4:00pm.
