BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit but fell in overtime at Illinois Wesleyan by a 4-3 count on Saturday night.
Illinois Wesleyan posted the first two goals of the evening as Stephen Rensa found the back of the net in the 36th minute and again just three minutes into the second half.
Elmhurst rallied and scored three unanswered goals in less than 20 minutes to lead 3-2. Tim Piotrowski netted his third goal in the 61st minute, beating Titan goalie Win Fisher with an unassisted tally. Cary Kendzior buried a feed from Matt McKinniss in the 70th minute to tie the score with his first collegiate goal. Jake Pahr was able to gve Elmhurst the lead with his eighth marker of the season in the 79th minute from Brian McMahon.
Mata Cyvas forced the extra session when he put one past Elmhurst keeper Sebastian Domczewski with just over two minutes remaining. Chris Sleezer ended the contest in the fourth minute of the extra session, converting a pass from Tim Marlow.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot Elmhurst 19-11 in the contest. Domczewski stopped eight shots in goal for the Bluejays.
Elmhurst (11-3, 2-1) travels to North Park University on Tuesday for a 7:00pm matchup with the Vikings.
