Danielle Mikos is entering her fourth year of collegiate coaching after a successful coaching career at the high school and club level.
Mikos was a standout volleyball players while playing at Benedictine University. She closed the book on her collegiate playing career as a three-time all-conference honoree at middle blocker. She finished her career ranked sixth in career kills and fourth in block assists. She earned her bachelor's degree in social science, minoring in secondary education and special education.
Mikos is currently a special education teacher at Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois. Prior to coaching at Elmhurst, Mikos coached in both the girls' and boys' volleyball programs at Eisenhower. Her girls' varsity team set a new program record (26-7) in 2015 and three of her four seniors went on to earn volleyball scholarships. Prior to Mikos coaching, the varsity squad averaged nine wins per season with one college-bound athlete. In 2015, the varsity boys' program won its first regional championship in school history with Mikos serving as the assistant coach. Six players went on to play collegiate volleyball since since Mikos joined the program’s coaching staff, the first collegiate players in the history of the program.
Mikos also coached club volleyball for 11 years, working for two of the top volleyball clubs in the nation. She coached for Sports Performance Volleyball Club for six years,(2007-2012) working with some of the current top Division I collegiate players in the country. In 2013, Mikos joined the 1st Alliance Volleyball Club coaching staff. That year, her 17-Black team won the AAU national championship in the 17 Club Division. Mikos also works for 1st Alliance as a lessons coach, working with hundreds of student athletes a season.
