Anthony Szymel enters his fourth season as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach with the Elmhurst men's soccer team.
Szymel has 10 years of collegiate coaching experience across all three NCAA levels.Â
He spent the 2018 season coaching at Aurora University after spending the previous four seasons at DePaul University. He began his coaching career at Lynn University in Florida, spending four years with the team.Â
A three-year starter at Lewis University, Szymel earned all-conference and all-region honors for three straight seasons and led the nation in goals against average at .885 in 2008. He served as team captain as a senior.Â
Szymel holds a bachelor's degree from Lewis and a master's degree from Lynn. He has completed the NSCAA goalkeeping module levels 1,2 and 3 while also holding a USSF D License.Â
