Education:
Cheng earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Denison University in 2016, and recieved his MBA from Elmhurst University in 2022.
Responsibilities:
Cheng serves as the men's basketball team's recruiting coordinator, and focuses on opponent scouting and game planning as well as player development.
Prior Experience:
Prior to returning to the Bluejays, Cheng served as the assistant men's basketball coach at Hillsdale College for two seasons. At Hillsdale, Cheng served as the team's coordinator for recruiting operations and scouting, helping the team to a 41-17 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament in 2023. Cheng previously spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Bluejays, serving as an assistant for the team's best season in program history which culminated in national runner-up honors in 2021-22. He also spent a pair of seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Chicago.
Personal:
Native of Elmhurst, IL. Graduated high school from Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep in Elmhurst. Was a four-year member of the men's basketball team at Denison, where he helped his team to the 2016 NCAC Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament as a captain.
