Tony Shiffman

Tony Shiffman

Tony Shiffman is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Bluejays' coaching staff. Shiffman will coach the Elmhurst offensive line in 2022.  

Shiffman comes to Elmhurst after spending the past three seasons at Lake Forest College. He coached the offensive line for the Foresters and also served as tht team's Run-Game Coordinator in 2021. Lake Forest posted an impressive 20-4 overall record in the three years Shiffman served as an assistant. The Foresters captured a Midwest Conference Championship and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship during the the 2021 campaign. 

Lake Forest averaged 41.5 points per game while rushing for an average of 180 yards per game and scoring 32 total rushing touchdowns. Shiffman coached three all-conference offensive lineman in 2021, including a pair of first-team honorees and the MWC'S Offensive Line MVP in Anthony DerManulian. DerManulian also earned all-region accolades, a pair of All-America honors and CoSIDA Academic All-America honors following the 2021 season. 

In his time at Lake Forest, Shiffman coached six all-conference honorees in just two full seasons. The Foresters also improved their rushing average by more than 50 yards per game from 2019 to 2021. 

Prior to his arrival at Lake Forest, Shiffman spent two seasons (2017-18) as the head coach and offensive coordinator Fort Madison High School in Iowa. He helped double the squad size in his short tenure while coaching 28 all-district players and a third-team all-state honoree.  

Shiffman also made coaching stops at Rossview High School in Tennessee (2015-17), Roanoke Rapids High School in North Carolina (2014-15) and he began his coaching career at Springfield High School (2007-13).He served as the offensive line coach and strength and conditioning coordinator at all three stops while also serving as the Run Game Coordinator at Rossview. While at Rossview, the team improved its rushing average by over 100 yards per game while Shiffman coached six all-district and 15 all-area players. At Springfield, Shiffman helped the Senators top 2,000 rushing yards in each of his seven seasons with the team. 

Shiffman played collegiate football at Illinois College where he was a three-year letterwinner. He earned his master's degree from Greenville College. 

Shiffman and his wife, Alissa are the proud parents of a daughter, Frances Rose.
