Sam Kent joins the Bluejays as a full-time assistant coach working with the linebackers and with the team's strength and conditioning.
Kent spent the past season at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he served as the team's defensive line coach and run game coordinator. He spent the previous seven years at Manchester University where he served as the team's defensive coordinator, strength and conditioning coordinator and defensive line coach. Kent began his collegiate coaching career at MacMurray College in 2008 where he spent two years working with the team's defensive line.Â
Kent was a four-year starter at Manchester where he was named the team's Defensive Lineman of the Year three times. He finished his career as a four-time all-conference selection frm the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. He earned his bachelor's degree from Manchester in 2008 and completed his master's degree at California University of Pennsylvania in 2011.Â
