Nathan Bell is beginning his second season as an assistant coach with the Elmhurst football team. Bell will serve as the team's defensive line coach in 2015 after working with the special teams and defensive backs in 2014. Â
Bell spent 2011-2013 as an assistant coach at Robert Morris University. While at Robert Morris, Bell coached the defensive backs and linebackers while also serving as the defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator. He spent one season at Randolph-Macon College as an assistant coach working with the defensive line in 2010 before joining Robert Morris.
Bell is no stranger to the CCIW after playing and coaching at Illinois Wesleyan University. A 2003 graduate from Illinois Wesleyan, Bell earned three varsity letters as a linebacker for the Titans. He returned to Illinois Wesleyan in 2007 and spent four season as an assistant coach working with the linebackers, secondary and special teams. The Titans reached the second round of the NCAA Playoffs in 2009 and ranked fifth in the nation in total defense.
Bell also had coaching stops at Illinois State University as a graduate assistant (2007-08) and at Mahomet-Seymour High School (2004-06).
Bell earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan in 2003 and a master's degree from Illinois State in 2009.
