Elmhurst University Athletics

Martin Kocian is entering his fourth year as a part-time assistant coach with the Bluejay football team. Kocian works as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Kocian is originally from the Czech Republic where he started his coaching career.

Prior to coaching at Elmhurst, Kocian coached the Prague Lions from 1998-2007. He spent the 2008 season as the running backs coach of the Dresden Monarchs in the German Football League. In 2009 he coached the linebackers of the Berlin Adler and helped the Adler win the league championship.

Kocian graduated from Palestra College and played as a linebacker and safety for the Prague Lions from 1993-1997.

Kocian and his wife, Eliska, reside in Prague during the offseason.
